The best time to visit is the dry season from February to July. March and April are ideal for seeing rhododendron blooms. Heavy rains outside these months make trails muddy and increase leech activity.

Planning questions
How difficult are the trails?
The trails vary. The Five Lakes trail has uneven terrain and stream crossings. Reaching the base of Do Quyen Waterfall requires climbing nearly 700 stairs down and back up.
Can I swim in the park?
Yes, you can swim in the Five Lakes. However, do not swim during or immediately after heavy rain due to flash flood risks.
Do I need to hire a guide?
A guide is not strictly required. However, joining a guided tour is the most convenient way to manage the transport and shuttle logistics.
